Good Town, Bad Blood is a reflection on the times we live in, especially in Mexico, where violence and organized crime have become an unsettling part of everyday life. I approach this subject through the language of Pop Art, using bold color and a compressed, almost playful visual world to set the brightness of popular imagery against a much darker reality. The title holds that tension: the promise of a good town alongside the bloodshed that stains it. The oval format gives the composition the presence of an emblem, drawing the viewer into this contrast between appearance and truth. Acrylic on canvas. Oval, 80 × 100 cm (31.5 × 39.4 in).
