TODO ESTA EN CHINO
Ceramic Stool
*Colors may appear slightly different on your computer than they actually are
In TODO ESTÁ EN CHINO, Jaime Shelley brings Chairman Mao face-to-face with Hello Kitty on the surface of a functional ceramic sculpture. Political propaganda, commercial branding, and popular culture collide in an intentionally absurd visual encounter.
With humor and irony, the work explores how historical figures and consumer icons can be transformed into interchangeable images—familiar, seductive, and increasingly difficult to decipher.
It can be used as a stool or side table, or displayed as a standalone work of art.
Technique: Hand-painted low-fire ceramic using the majolica technique
Dimensions: Approximately 15 in wide × 18 in high (38 × 46 cm)
Local pickup only at San Cayetano Studio, San Miguel de Allende.
