Singers’ Showdown (Pelea de Cantantes) brings the world of classic Mexican cinema into a lively Pop Art scene. It evokes the spirited rivalry of Jorge Negrete and Pedro Infante, while surrounding figures, doves, roses, and other visual symbols add their own unexpected notes to the story. I enjoy bringing these different images together, letting humor, nostalgia, and contrast turn a familiar cultural reference into something entirely my own. Acrylic on canvas. 100 × 80 cm (39.4 × 31.5 in).
Free pickup at San Cayetano Studio or free delivery within San Miguel de Allende.
