Falsa Conquista
False Conquest (Falsa Conquista) is a dense Pop Art collision of images, symbols, and ideas. In this painting, I question the version of the conquest of Mexico and the Americas that was taught to us—and continues to be taught—as settled history. I use humor, visual contrasts, and the language of popular culture to turn that familiar story upside down and invite a closer look at the myths and messages that shape how we see the past. Acrylic on canvas. 185 × 150 cm (72.8 × 59.1 in).
Free delivery within San Miguel de Allende, or pickup at Finca San Cayetano / San Cayetano Studio.
