Angry
Angry brings my long relationship with Pop Art into a striking circular format. The intense, furrowed face confronts the viewer directly, turning anger into an image that is both personal and instantly recognizable. I’m drawn to the way Pop Art takes a powerful expression and gives it the force of an icon: bold, immediate, and impossible to ignore. In this work, the familiar visual language of popular culture becomes a way to explore emotion and the tensions of everyday life. Its two-meter scale gives the face a monumental presence, while the round canvas makes it feel almost like a larger-than-life portrait or emblem. Acrylic on canvas, round. 200 cm diameter (78.7 in).
